“REALIZE THE REAL LIES”

Too many of us fall in love with lies that people personify not realizing the signs that they only mean us harm
You know that lie of “I Love you” after he blackens your eye and finds pleasure in your cry
Or the kick he gets out of breaking you down piece by piece only to make you feel as if you’ve lost it
The lie of just take one sip “sweetie you won’t get addicted” that very night stumbling your way to the toilet throwing up your emotions
The lie that witch craft and voodoo can get you anything knowing that only God has a power that surpasses all
Those whispers in your ear telling you you’ll never break the cycle, “Counseling and rehab won’t help”
The friends who laugh and murmur behind your back as they watch you struggle to live right
Daily pep talks you give yourself, saying it’s okay to live in your sin for now because your parents are saved
The infamous line “I’m grown” since you’ve turned 21 but your still in momma’s house not paying a single bill
It’s okay to live in my lust because I was once a victim of molestation and abuse
Harassing pedestrians for money to get my next fix because God can’t satisfy this void I feel inside
